Her career has run the gamut from textile designer to design director\, and most recently\, Founder and Creative Director for MAYES NYC.\nBrandy was introduced to the garment business by her seamstress mother at a very young age. This is what sparked her interest and motivated her to attend Central Michigan University. There\, she earned a BAA in clothing and textile design. After moving to Manhattan\, Brandy spent the early years of her career at Calvin Klein and the Limited. Then spending many years at Levi’s\, cementing her transition from young textile designer to design director. A few years later\, the mid-west came calling\, and she was recruited onto the re-launch team for Lane Bryant brand.\nReturning to NYC four years later\, she was again sought out by a plus-size start-up called Maree Pour Toi. Being the first hire\, she helped launch the brand and led the direction. As the Founder & Creative Director of Mayes NYC\, her goal of making curvy women look sophisticated and confident all while feeling comfortable has come true.
