This workshop provides an introduction to the concepts of diversity, equity and inclusion, with an emphasis on understanding the importance of these concepts in today’s climate.
The workshop is aimed at helping you develop the skills needed to have difficult conversations about race, gender expression, and other sensitive topics related to DEI, and to address harmful behaviour in a constructive and healthy way for everyone involved.
The overall goal of the workshop is to empower you to promote diversity, equity and inclusion in your personal and professional life.
Learner Outcomes
At the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
- Describe the concepts and importance of diversity, equity and inclusion in today’s world.
- Define ways to have difficult conversations about race, gender expression and other sensitive topics related to diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Implement strategies to resolve harmful behaviour in a constructive and healthy manner for all parties involved.
- Identify actions to promote diversity, equity and inclusion in everyday situations.
Facilitators
Natasha Ali
Natasha is an energetic, curious and optimistic entrepreneur. She began her career working as a human rights lawyer, and her work focused on identifying and mitigating systemic discrimination within provincial institutions. In 2019, Natasha pivoted from law to management consulting, specializing in organizational design, diversity and inclusion and leadership development. When she’s not working, Natasha loves to travel, experience new cultures, do yoga, and design regenerative systems.
Katerina Alexopolous
Katerina brings 20 years of experience in the fields of self-actualization, social work, and psychology. She is a Registered MSW Social Worker and holds certifications as a Yoga Teacher, Reiki Practitioner, and Breathwork and Meditation Facilitator. Retired from her psychotherapy practice, Katerina offers holistic therapeutic treatments and mindfulness-based coaching as Co-Founder of The Mindful Image Company. Additionally, Katerina offers consulting and educational workshops on topics ranging from Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to Mindful Conflict Resolution.
To Receive CEUs from this Event, you must:
- Attend the three-hour webinar workshop in its entirety. Attendance will be monitored.
- Complete and submit the Training Evaluation by April 3rd; the link will be found here.
About CEUs
As an authorized CEU Provider, AICI is in the process of approving this program for 0.3 AICI CEUs.
Earning CEUs is not a requirement of general membership with AICI.
However, if you are currently certified through AICI with CIC, CIP or CIM then you must earn CEUs to retain certification. Please follow this procedure:
- At the end of this program, please complete the Participant Training Evaluation form. You will notice that included in this form are the learning outcomes for the session. Note that you will receive CEUs for this session, even if you indicate that a learning outcome was not successfully achieved.
- Email the completed Participant Training Evaluation form to Rebecca Chu at rebecca@impeccableimage.ca by April 3rd. You may not submit this form at a later date.
When you earn CEUs, AICI Headquarters is notified and your permanent record is updated. You may request a copy of your CEU record by contacting AICI Headquarters.
